Set up your own site

October 19th, 2009

Like most people you too want to have your own space in the internet, that isn’t hard and in this post I’m going to direct you in the right direction.

First thing you need is a domain or in other words your site address, that can easily obtainable through a registrar, registrars are more or less the same but normally I use godaddy or idotz. Registrars are all more or less the same so don’t worry too much about this point.

Next thing you have to do is get a server to host your site, this task might be a bit more difficult because not all webhosting service providers are the same, some are even free but the service that they offer isn’t such a big deal, enlighten yourself about this situation by reading Free hosting is not always the best choice.

Normally you want a webhosting that has a large bandwidth which means that a lot of information can be send across the internet, in other terms it means that you can have a lot of visitors downloading your site. Another thing you want in a webhost is a big disk space which allows you to have a lot of information stored in the servers. Last but not least is a good customer service that deals with your problems in a matter of minutes, normally things shouldn’t go wrong but in case they do having a good customer service comes very handy.

Now that you know the basics go ahead and set your own site today.
