Valentine’s day is just around the corner and before you know it, the stores will be filled with flowers, teddy bears and chocolates. As clichéd as it is, Valentine’s day is all about celebrating your loved one. But if you’re a little bored with the same old stuff, why not shake up this Valentine’s day with a little bit of excitement? From sky diving to hot tubs, here are 7 awesome ideas that will get your heart racing.

1.    Hot Air Balloon Ride

What could be more romantic than ascending through the air on a beautiful summer’s day, arm in arm with your loved one? Enjoy the bird’s eye view of the gorgeous scenery below and indulge in a champagne breakfast (usually included). Hot Air Balloon rides are becoming increasingly popular in Australia and experiences are readily available in every state.

2.    Skydiving

This one is guaranteed to get your heart pumping – and it’ll send your love to new heights! If you’re an adventurous couple or just wanting to try something new, skydiving is an amazing experience to kick-start an audacious and passionate Valentine’s Day. If you’re keen, look for a deal – several sky diving companies will often include extras in their ‘jumps’, such as diving over a beach or providing an included lunch.

3.    One Night Stand

Don’t worry, it’s not what you’re thinking … but nothing could be more romantic than organising a one night stand – with your lover! Treat yourself to a dinner or a few drinks out and then head home, hit the sheets and pretend that you’ve only got each other for one night! It’ll surely put the fire back into your love life and make it a very memorable Valentine’s Day.

4.    Rent a Hot Tub

If you’ve got the means and you’re happy to splurge this year, renting a hot tub for your Valentine’s day (or night) is a super experience in the comfort of your own home – and it will be a great surprise for your other half! Set the tub up on your back deck or verandah, decorate it with Valentine’s Day flowers, candles and make sure you set aside some nibbles or champagne for the two of you.

5.    Winery Trip

This one is for the cosy at heart and for couples who would like a quiet night in, but still want to get away from the monotony of their everyday living space. Take a drive out to a near by winery, indulge in the fresh air, the wine tasting and the captivating surrounds before you settle down for a glorious night in your suite. Intimacy was never so amazing!

6.    Couple’s Photo Shoot

It might not sound very romantic, but investing in a photo shoot for you and your loved one can be a great way to cherish your memories. It doesn’t have to be kinky (unless you want it to be!) but a professional photographer can grab some beautiful and personal moments between the two of you, giving you something to remember for years to come.

7.    Cruise to an Island

If you’d simply refer to relax back on Valentine’s Day and not have to do anything, a cruise can be the perfect option – you’re out on the water, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air, with the person you love the most. If you can, see if you can find a cruise that does a special charter to an island where you can pamper yourself with a beach picnic.

How to Write an Obituary

When a loved one dies, it can be challenging to write an obituary. Sticking to a basic formula can make it easier. Look over some obituaries that have previously run in the newspaper you will submit it to, and take note of style. Try to mimic your obituary accordingly. Here is a basic guide on how obituaries are commonly written.

Introductory Information

The first paragraph of an obituary will usually contain the most basic information. It will say the deceased’s full name including any nicknames, their age, their residence at the time of death, and the date they passed away. The cause of death is usually not included; however it is up to you if you’d like to include it.

Basic Details

The next paragraph usually contains basic details on the deceased’s life. It might include where they were born and any other previous residences, if they lived there for a significant period of time. It can include their occupation, and other information such as what school they attended and when they graduated. Significant awards or designations might be included, as well as any military service. It often says the spouse’s name, if any, and when and where the couple was married.

Character

An obituary can be as detailed or as simple as you like. Sometimes people like to include more personal information on the character and lifestyle of the deceased. They may say what hobbies or interests the deceased enjoyed, and they may list some of the deceased’s personality traits. It is nice to list some of the most defining, positive qualities, and give an example of them. For example, say they were generous and loved volunteering at their church, or that they enjoyed sharing their passion for nature with their grandchildren on outings to the park.

Predeceased and Survivors

The next section might include a list of predeceased family members and survivors. It is common to only list predeceased if it is a very close relative, such as a spouse or parent. Survivors will include other close family members, such as children and grandchildren. It is up to you how far into the family tree you’d like to go in the obituary. If you will specifically name family members, be careful not to leave anyone out. You could generalize and say, “aunts and uncles,” rather than list them all individually if it is easier or if space is an issue.

Funeral Arrangements

The last paragraph should list service and funeral information, including the date, time and place. It should also instruct where to send donations if they are requested in lieu of flowers. If the information is not available yet, say the name of the funeral home that is handling them, so if people are interested they may contact the home to find out the finalized plans later.

Proofread

Don’t forget to proofread your obituary before you submit it to the newspaper if possible use a grammar checker, and have another family member look it over for accuracy. If you’re worried about mistakes, you can ask the newspaper for a proof to go over before it runs, and some papers will grant your request.

When you’ve submitted the obituary, don’t forget to notify family and friends of the date that it will run. You may want to buy some extra copies of the paper so you can clip the obituary and send it to out-of-town loved ones. If the deceased lived for a significant time period somewhere else, you may want to consider submitting the obituary to the local paper there as well.

Writing when grieving can be hard. Always keep handy grammar rules resources.

How to Get Discounts and Deals on Amazon

English: Amazon wordmark.

Anyone who has ever shopped on Amazon knows it is a great place to find just about anything imaginable. Not only does Amazon offer an excellent selection of products, the prices are very competitive as well. Although it may be hard to imagine finding better deals than Amazon already offers, it is possible. There are easy ways to find discounts and deals for Amazon that can save you even more money.

Comparison Shop

One of the best ways to get deals on Amazon is to comparison shop. This means you should definitely search for and find all the sellers on Amazon that offer the product you are looking for. The price could vary greatly from one seller to the next, so taking a minute to research all of your available options will help you get the best deal.

Discount Codes

If you shop online, you probably know what a discount code, otherwise known as a promotional code or coupon code, is. Discount codes can help you save money on your online purchases, and sometimes require you to spend a certain amount of money or buy a certain type of product. Amazon does not usually offer very many discount codes, but you can find them if you are lucky. Doing a simple internet search for “Amazon discount codes” should pull up any results that are available. Similarly, Amazon discount codes may only work on specific products. All you can do is check to see if any codes exist and if they will work on your order. If you find a code that does in fact work for you, it will be well worth the small amount of time it took you to find it.

Daily Deals

Another great way to get discounts on Amazon is to shop the section that lists daily deals. Amazon offers many new deals on tons of products every day, making the section worth checking out when you get the chance. You never know, you may find exactly what you are looking for. Amazon’s MP3 store also offers many bargains. Every month there is a selection of albums you can purchase for only $5. Some albums are even available for free. Also available in the MP3 store are the “Song of the Day” and “MP3 Daily Deal.”

Coupons

There is a section on the Amazon website that lists various coupons that will save you money on certain products. These coupons differ from discount codes in that they are listed on the actual Amazon website, and that they are not in code form. All you have to do is click on a coupon and add the specific product to your shopping cart. The coupon will automatically be deducted during the check-out process.

Other Deals

Amazon also features an “Outlet” section on its website. In the outlet you will find many bargains on products that have been drastically reduced. Some items you may find in the outlet include electronics, baby products, and home and garden products. Some products that are offered in the outlet have been reconditioned, meaning they were returned and then restored to like-new condition. There is also a “Warehouse Deals” section that offers deals on products that you would find in a warehouse-type setting. These items are often available in greater quantities and larger packages than they would be in a non-warehouse setting.

These are just some of the ways you can get discounts and deals on Amazon. It is best to fully familiarize yourself with the Amazon website and all of its features before shopping. Doing so will allow you to take advantage of all the great money-saving offers that may be available.

Internet publishing

October 3rd, 2010

If you are interested in internet publishing there are a few things that you must know.

First you’ll need a host, a host is easy to find but a good host is something quite different. To find a good host you need to do a bit of researching but keep in mind that you need a good bandwidth if you have a lot of visitors and space to store your site(s) files. The best thing is to keep an eye in sites that do hosts reviews like the best vps hosting

Another thing that you need to bear in mind is the domain, you need a domain for a site and that’s like your site home address, the address that everybody types to reach your site. The domain name is very important and it interferers with your search engine positioning. To buy a domain you need a registrar which is the company that registries your address.

Next thing to have a successful site is doing a bit of internet marketing, that begins from the creation of appealing text and product to the link campaign were you gather the most in links as possible. You can get links from article directories, other sites, and blogs.

The best luck in your internet adventures.

Keep your house warm during the winter

December 25th, 2009

Now that is winter we have to keep our homes warm and that’s why so many people use furnaces and fireplaces. Now it’s a must to have some heating in our houses if we want to spend a comfortable winter.

Some areas of the country don’t really require heating especially the ones down the south but if you go up north you really need one especially when the snow comes. It’s really nice to be in a warm house while we see the snow coming down, the spectacle of the falling snow is greatly increased when you are in a warm house.

The other day I was talking to a friend and he told me that he was without heating and the first thing he did was calling a furnace repair in Salt Lake City, I didn’t blame him because I would do exactly the same thing.

A hot tee also helps me a lot getting past this cold winter, Hot tee warms you up and it’s also good for your health because of the antioxidants it contains. Hot cocoa is also a great alternative but beware that too much hot cocoa might increase your chances of getting diabetes.
